Julie Boone, our first grade teacher, is expecting a child this September. We wish her well on the new addition to her family. She will be taking a maternity
leave when she has her baby. Substituting for her will be Karen Griffith. Karen is a retired first grade teacher from Annawan. She has thirty-one years experience, all in first grade. We look forward to having Karen on our staff in September.

Our students have recently finished raising funds in the “Jump Rope for Heart” event. The students raised more than $5000 for heart disease research. $500 dollars was given back to our school for the hard work done by our students. We thank all of you who contributed to this worthy cause. May 3 is our annual Special Guest Day. On that day, students invite a special person in their life to attend a Eucharistic Prayer Service with them, visit the school, and to eat lunch. The Eucharistic Prayer Service will begin at 11:00.

All the elementary schools in Geneseo will be participating in Cirque Amongus. Cirque Amongus is a self-contained school program offering students,

teachers, and parents the opportunity to explore the world of the circus from the inside. St. Malachy’s day will be May 7.

On Friday, May 24th, we will be conducting Fine Arts Day at 1:00. Students’ art work, completed throughout the year, will be on display. Also, students will be performing musically, demonstrating what they have learned throughout the year.
