SOCIAL JUSTICE NEWS

St. Malachy’s Social Justice Committee meets every first Tuesday of the
month at 4:00 in the Youth Lounge. Some of the projects that we have
upcoming are:

AUGUST: Student Services Collection—this collection provides everyday
needs for the Geneseo Social Workers to provide for Geneseo School
District and St. Malachy’s children, including new clothing, socks,
toothpaste, deodorant, etc.
OCTOBER: Winter Coat Drive—we are collecting new and slightly used
winter coats for the Food Pantry.
ADVENT: The Advent Giving Tree—products, gift cards and monetary
donations will be collected under our Advent Giving Tree. Lists of the
products needed will be found in the bulletin or by the tree.
YOUTH INVOLVEMENT: This year, we will be looking at new ways to get
the young people involved in Social Justice activities.

We are always happy to welcome new members that are interested in

helping with these projects. Contact Karen Turner at 309-945-5062, if you’d
like more information or are interested in joining.
