Fr. Michael Pakula to retire

Bishop Jenky has informed us that Father Michael Pakula will be retiring from active service on July 8, 2020.  At that time he will become Pastor-Senior Status and Father James “Jim” Pallardy will be St. Malachy’s new pastor.

Father Pakula came to St. Malachy in 1995 and has led the parish through several major changes, including the addition of an annual parish sponsored Winterfest event for the community.  He also presided over the construction of a new parish hall, additional classrooms and new parish offices.  Father Mike has also been very active in the community and a key member of the Geneseo/Atkinson food pantry providing food and household items to the needy in our community..

After retirement, Father Pakula plans to remain in Geneseo and continue his service to our community.
