The Food Pantry will be re-opening to receive donations and allow clients into our shopping area on July 6. I plan to incorporate the following changes.
We ask that donation drop offs be made at our back door off of Madison Ave. We will place our blue bins and shopping carts outside so that donors do not enter the building. (Donations can be made M, Tu, Th, 9-12 and 1-4 just as before).
Food distribution will continue to be curbside on Tuesday mornings from 9 – 11:30 am.
Our clothing room will be open to clients on Mondays and Thursdays from 9-12 and 1-4. (I am discontinuing Tuesdays altogether for right now because I think there will be too much confusion in our parking lot during food pick-up).
Two clients will be allowed in the clothing room at one time. There will be a limit on the length of time they can shop. I’m still working out all these details.
Clients will be required to wear masks, use hand sanitizer when they enter the building, and practice safe social distancing.
Volunteers will also be required to wear masks, be encouraged to wash their hands often (gloves will be provided if they choose to wear them), and will be asked to disinfect as much as possible.
My number one concern is the safety of our staff and volunteers, but I feel like we should at least try to open. If it doesn’t work or the number of Covid cases increase again, we may have to reconsider.
Thank you, Jolynn
