Parents Club Activities

All parents and guardians of St. Malachy School have automatic membership in Parents Club. Everyone is welcome to attend the informative monthly meetings. The role of Parents Club is to provide support to the school through responsible stewardship of time, talent and treasure.

Parent Attendance
K-6 Parents Club Meetings are typically scheduled once a month on a weeknight evening in the cafeteria beginning in August.
Babysitting is offered free of charge.

K-6  Heaven Sent Scrip is a fundraising program that benefits both the school and parish. A wide variety of gift cards are available for purchase after weekend Masses and during regular parish office hours. Participating businesses donate a percentage to the school. It is FREE MONEY for the school! For example, purchase a $100 gift card from Fareway for face value and the program earns $3

K-6 Summer Work Day is typically scheduled in August. Parents Club organizes a group of volunteers to complete various maintenance jobs around the school building and grounds. optional
K Kindergarten Mixer is a social gathering for all Kindergarten families near the beginning of the school year allowing the opportunity to get to know some of the families in the new Kindergarten class. yes: kindergarten families
K-6 First Day of School Coffee & Prayer takes place at the Mahoney Shelter, on the west side of the building, on the first day of school. On this morning all students, faculty and staff gather around the flag to begin the new school year with the Pledge of Allegiance, a song, and prayer. After the students enter the school to begin the day, parents are invited to gather for coffee and donuts.

K-6 Parents Club Coffees After Masses are fellowship events after both the 8:15 and 10:30 a.m. Masses. School families are divided alphabetically by last name and are assigned a day to bring breakfast items to one Parents Club Coffee during the school year. Volunteers are also needed to set up, make coffee, serve and clean up. Free will donations are accepted; however, the main goal of these coffees is fellowship within the parish community. each family is assigned a date to provide breakfast items; attendance is optional, volunteers are needed
K-6 Lasagna Supper is a St. Malachy School tradition that requires “all hands on deck.” This fundraising and fellowship event typically occurs in the fall. Students sell tickets to the supper which includes lasagna, salad, bread, dessert and beverage. Every family is required to donate desserts and, because this event is very labor intensive, each school parent is asked to volunteer for at least one job before, during or after the supper. each parent of every student is expected to volunteer for at least one job
K-6  Christmas Caroling & Pizza is scheduled during the month of December. St. Malachy School families are invited to volunteer their time to visit local nursing homes to sing Christmas carols, pass out Christmas cards and visit with the residents. Afterward, pizza is served in St. Malachy Hall. Students must be accompanied by an adult. optional, students must have a chaperone 
K-6 Screen Free Week encourages students to “unplug” from electronics.

*Game Night allows all St. Malachy families to enjoy games and snacks in the Hall.

*Sock Hop is a fun evening of music and dancing for St. Malachy students.
Adult supervision is required for each student attending.

K-6 Car Party is St. Malachy School’s biggest fundraiser of the year. The money raised at Car Party not only enables the school to complete special projects such as updating technology or repainting the interior of the school; but also helps pay the day to day operating expenses of the school keeping our tuition at a very reasonable rate compared to many other schools.
School families are invited to support Car Party by making a donation and/or purchasing a ticket to attend the event which includes dinner, live and silent auction, entertainment, and a drawdown for a 1 in 200 chance to win the grand prize of $10,000 cash or a $10,000 voucher to Turpin Motors.
