K-5th
CCD (Catholic Children’s Discipleship)
K-5th grade CCD classes are on most Wednesdays after school during the school year from 3:30 - 4:45 pm at St. Malachy. Children are either dropped off at church or take the bus to the middle school and walk with an adult to St. Malachy. Parents pack a snack for their children (but we always have extras on hand for kiddos, too).

Focus: Grounded in the Bible, Church teaching, and the Liturgical year, Christ Our Life helps children grow closer to Jesus while learning the treasures of our Catholic faith. Each grade builds on the previous year, revisiting important truths in simple, age-appropriate ways so children’s understanding deepens as they grow. Lessons include prayer, stories of faith, and practical ways to live as followers of Jesus—both at home and in the parish. The program supports families as the first teachers of the faith and encourages children not just to learn about God’s love, but to live it every day.
Our CCD program is strongest when families are part of it! We’d love for parents to get involved in ways that fit your time and talents—whether that’s helping plan a family social event, lending a hand in the classroom for a quarter, semester, or the whole year, or supporting our 2nd graders as they prepare for their sacraments. Big or small, parent involvement makes a difference – and shows our children the joy of growing in faith together as a parish family. Reach out to Michelle Ganson, CCD and Confirmation Coordinator, to help (mganson@stmalgeneseo.org)!
Children’s Liturgy of the Word
Offered during select Sunday Masses for ages 4-2nd grade. Children hear the readings and Gospel explained at their level. Helps kids engage more deeply in the liturgy.

Sunday Children’s Masses
The second Sunday of each month at 10:30AM Mass.
All are welcome to join us for our special Sunday Children’s Masses, held on the second Sunday of each month at 10:30 AM. Children kindergarten and up are invited to sign up to take an active role—serving, ushering, reading, and singing—plus enjoy a special homily just for kids. It’s a fun and meaningful way to grow in faith, confidence, and community. All children are welcome to be part of this joyful tradition!
