Councils & Committees

Parish Council
The Pastoral Council, which is advisory, will assist the pastor in coordinating, studying and promoting the pastoral life of the parish.

Social Justice Committee
The Social Justice Committee at St. Malachy exists to help parishioners follow their call to be the hands and feet of Jesus. Through our commitment to promoting human dignity and advocating for charity, justice, and peacemaking, we strive to shape a more caring society and contribute to a peaceful world. We do this by:

  1. educating ourselves and others about Catholic Social Teaching,

  2. identifying needs in our parish, community, and the world, and

  3. facilitating parishioner involvement in meeting those needs.

Building and Grounds Committee
The general function of the Buildings and Grounds Committee is to oversee the physical care of the whole of St. Malachy facility, including all buildings and grounds.

Welcome Committee
We are a group of active members who strive to be a friendly face to those new to our parish.  We reach out and offer assistance in answering questions about our church community.  We take special interest and invite them to our yearly free cinnamon roll and coffee event.  We strive to make sure they know we are available to help answer questions and direct them to the correct contact people within our church community to meet their faith journey.

Mission Statement: To be friendly ambassadors at church and at all parish social functions. In addition to responsibilities to new parishioners, all Ministers of Welcome are asked to constantly reach out and extend a friendly, welcoming hand to members of our parish.
