PORCH ANGELS

St. Malachy, along with other Geneseo area churches, is implementing a Porch Angels ministry during this time of COVID 19 virus restrictions. The ministry will assist parishioners who are in need of help with grocery shopping and/or picking up medications at a pharmacy. Parishioners with these needs are encouraged to contact the parish office via phone (309) 944-5393 (leave a voicemail) or email (sebastianmary@saintmalachy.org), providing a name, address and phone number. A Porch Angel volunteer from St. Malachy will then call the person who is requesting assistance to discuss necessary details. All transactions (payment for items, delivery of groceries, meds & receipts) will occur at the requesting person’s home on his/her porch due to COVID 19 virus distancing restrictions. 

ALSO, PLEASE HELP US SPREAD THE WORD! If you know of a parishioner who might want to use the Porch Angels service, please call them to share this information. This includes any person, not just the elderly who may be having trouble getting out for necessary items. Making a courtesy phone call to a fellow parishioner is a kind gesture and one way we can all support each other as a parish community. If you make a call, and the person wants to receive Porch Angel services, have them call the parish office (leave a voicemail) or ask for permission to contact the office on their behalf.
